Made-to-Order Pins
Choose a material, head type, end type, and size to create a custom pin.
Steel pins have good strength.
Stainless steel pins are more corrosion resistant than steel pins. 18-8 stainless steel pins offer a balance of strength and corrosion resistance. They may be mildly magnetic. 416 stainless steel pins are more wear-resistant than other stainless pins. They have some corrosion resistance and are magnetic.

Weld Studs
These studs have a wide base that distributes the load and projections that concentrate the weld. Length listed is overall length.
Choose studs with below-head projection for a stronger hold that uses the full strength of the fastener. Pass these studs through a hole and weld them in place.

Rivet Studs
Add a stud to thin material when you only have access to one side. An alternative to weld and press-in studs, they have a knurled body that resists loosening from vibration. Install them in a drilled hole with a lever-style rivet nut tool. Use with Grade 5 nuts.

Hex-Drive Long-Nose Spring Plungers
Install with a hex key for more torque than slotted long-nose spring plungers. These spring plungers have a nose that is longer than ball-nose spring plungers to provide a large bearing surface and handle side loads.
Steel is strong and wear resistant. Black-oxide steel bodies resist corrosion in dry environments.
18-8 stainless steel is chemical resistant and may be mildly magnetic.
Plastic is chemical resistant and lightweight; acetal noses are extra soft to minimize marring soft surfaces such as aluminum.
Spring plungers without thread locker are for use in soft material such as aluminum, in extreme temperatures, and on parts requiring frequent assembly and removal.
Spring plungers with thread locker have a nylon locking element that adds friction to resist loosening.
Extended nose force is the force required to begin to depress the nose. Compressed nose force is the force required to depress the nose flush with the body. When using a plunger as a detent or stop, a lighter nose force with a shallower hole releases more easily, while a heavier force with a deeper hole holds more securely.

Long-Nose Spring Plungers
Install from the nose end without depressing the nose using a driver (sold separately). With a nose that is longer than a ball-nose, these provide a large bearing surface to handle side loads.
Steel is strong and wear resistant. Black-oxide steel bodies resist corrosion in dry environments.
316 stainless steel is more corrosion resistant than 18-8 stainless steel and can be used in saltwater environments.
18-8 stainless steel is chemical resistant.
Brass is corrosion resistant in wet environments; brass noses are soft to minimize marring.

Stainless Steel Hex-Head Thumb Screws
Made from 18-8 stainless steel, these thumb screws are chemical resistant and may be mildly magnetic. Tighten them with a wrench for more torque while fastening. Length is measured from under the head.

Tapped Rounded Machine Keys
Thread a screw through the tapped hole to pop these keys out of a keyway. When installed, they fill oval keyways completely, reducing stress on the key and shaft. Using them in a closed keyway keeps them from sliding along the shaft axis. The rounded ends make it easy to slide gears, hubs, and other components into place. To install, press them in to place. Use them for permanent or high-torque applications, or to replace a key in a worn keyway. Keys are made of steel.
Oversized keys create a tight fit. They conform to ANSI B17.1 Class 2 standards for dimensions and tolerances.

Removable-Screw Anchors for Drywall, Plaster, and Wood Paneling
A drilled hole is required for installation. Screws can be removed repeatedly without affecting the anchor. To install, tap the anchor into the material until flush. Insert a screw and turn it to expand the anchor. For high volume tasks, use the optional installation tool—it doesn't require any twisting. Pull-out strength and shear strength values are 25% of the ultimate values.

Threaded Plug Gauges with Calibration Certificate
These gauges come with a certificate of calibration traceable to NIST that states they’ve passed a test for accuracy. They allow you to inspect internal threads on parts. All have a go gauge on one end and a no-go gauge on the other end. A taperlock handle lets you quickly replace worn gauges.
Check the minimum internal thread size with the go gauge end, and check the maximum internal thread size with the no-go gauge end. A part is within tolerance if it’s easy to thread the go gauge into the part but difficult to thread the no-go gauge more than two turns.
Threads have different classes of fit. Thread fit designates the tightness or looseness of mating threads. For example, inch threads with a 3B fit have tighter tolerances than threads with a 2B fit.

Stud Welding Systems
Join threaded studs and pins to steel and stainless steel with resistance welding that won't damage the opposite side of the material.
Threaded studs are for thin-gauge base materials. Copper-plated steel studs have good corrosion resistance. 18-8 stainless steel studs are more corrosion resistant than copper-plated steel studs.
